StriveTogether Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in the United States, dedicated to improving the lives and futures of young people through a national network of community partnerships. Established as an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 2017, StriveTogether originated from a coalition of local leaders in Cincinnati, Ohio, who sought to create systemic change in educational and life outcomes for youth, particularly those experiencing poverty.

Mission and Vision

StriveTogether’s mission is to partner with communities to ensure every child has every chance to succeed, regardless of race, ethnicity, poverty, or circumstance. Its vision is centered on the success of every child from cradle to career, focusing on comprehensive support that spans early childhood through young adulthood. The organization aims to put more young people on a path to economic mobility by helping them meet seven key life milestones necessary for thriving in their communities.

History

The origins of StriveTogether date back to 2006 when local leaders in Cincinnati convened to address college readiness among students facing economic hardship. The group recognized that merely increasing programs was insufficient without systemic collaboration and accountability. This insight led to the creation of a new civic infrastructure that coordinated efforts across school districts and other community partners to improve educational outcomes collectively.

In 2011, StriveTogether was founded to support a growing network of communities adopting this collaborative approach nationwide. The organization formalized its independence in 2017 and has since expanded its reach to over 70 cradle-to-career partnerships across the country.

Approach and Activities

StriveTogether operates through the Cradle to Career Network, a collaborative of local community partnerships including youth, families, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and other stakeholders. This network uses a proven framework known as the Theory of Action™ to transform systems and drive better results for youth.

Key elements of StriveTogether’s approach include:

• Connecting communities: Enabling members to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices across a network of more than 70 communities.
• Supporting progress: Providing resources, expert connections, and guidance to help communities implement systems changes effectively.
• Championing impact: Advocating for recognition of efforts that enhance economic mobility for youth and ensuring shared accountability among partners.

StriveTogether communities utilize data to identify obstacles faced by children and families, leveraging insights to inform and improve local strategies. This collaborative and data-driven model aims to break down silos and align stakeholders around shared goals to increase opportunities for young people.

Impact

As a national movement, StriveTogether has mobilized widespread community participation, working "one community at a time" to reach millions of children. Its emphasis on systemic transformation rather than isolated programs is designed to yield durable improvements in educational attainment and economic outcomes for youth across the United States.
