We're ending our countdown to #WorldMSDay with a message from MS advocate and adaptive fitness trainer Emily Reilly! Emily was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis at 17 years old, just after signing a soccer scholarship to Dallas Baptist University. "I was at practice and started noticing major weakness in my legs and fatigue," she recalls. "We decided to get an MRI and that's when they found multiple lesions on my spine." Since her diagnosis, she has been sharing workouts and her MS story with followers online –– now, that story includes pregnancy. "One challenge was how to time trying to conceive around my DMT. This required lots of conversations with my neurologist to decide on the best timing around my infusion," she says. "I am so grateful to be experiencing a healthy pregnancy after loss and every day that goes by makes me so thankful for this miracle rainbow baby!" Her advice for anyone newly diagnosed with MS? "Don't let MS stop you from pursuing your dreams or goals you have! Adjusting to your new normal takes time, so give yourself grace." Thanks to Emily for sharing her story!
