Today, we recognize the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity's, which later became the African Union. This day, known globally as “Africa Day,” celebrates the generations who have fought for liberation, unity, and self-determination across the continent and its diaspora. In 2013, our Executive Director, Amaha Kassa- a first-generation, Ethiopian immigrant community organizer and attorney- founded ACT to fill a critical gap in the organizing and political space in the U.

The Reconciliation Bill turns our government into a weapon against the freedom, health, and safety of our people, destroying life-saving programs like Medicaid and ripping communities apart. Our leaders must block this budget of theft and destruction to protect our freedoms, our families, and our futures.
