Organizational Structure As a 501(c)(3) organization, New Year's Fest of Kalamazoo Inc. operates under a Board of Directors, which includes community members who contribute their time and expertise to ensure the success of New Year's Fest.
Event Locations and Activities The festival takes place across multiple venues in downtown Kalamazoo, with performances held in both indoor locations and outdoor heated tents in Bronson Park. Activities also include yard games, vendors, and food trucks available in Bronson Park. The Holly Jolly Trolley offers free rides to attendees, connecting them to various parts of the celebration.
Admission While the outdoor live stage, fireworks, and ball drop are free, an admission button is required to attend performances within the indoor venues. In advance, buttons cost $8, and at the event, they are available for $12 in Bronson Park. Children seven years and younger are admitted free.
History New Year's Fest has been an annual tradition in Kalamazoo since 1985, providing a family-friendly and communal celebration to usher in the new year.
Community Engagement The event encourages community involvement through volunteering and participation in planning and organizing the festival. It aims to serve as a platform for introducing the greater Kalamazoo community to various forms of performing arts.
