Conservation Education Rehabilitation Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge Navarre, FL Found an Animal in Need. Each year we provide medical care and rehabilitation to about 1500 injured or orphaned native Florida wildlife patients with the goal of their release back to the wild. Each year our marine mammal stranding team also responds to over 20 stranded dolphins whales and sea turtles. Did you find wildlife in need.

There are many roles our veterinary team can take on during a surgical procedure, and one of the most important ones is monitoring the anesthesia & patient. We have some patients, like our shorebird and seabird species, that are known to not do well under anesthesia. So, we are extra cautious with these patients and are usually observing their breathing very closely, as their dive response may have them not wanting to breathe on their own.
