🦅 This stunning Short-tailed Hawk came to us showing neurological signs—disoriented, unstable, and clearly in trouble. After 23 days of supportive care, rest, and monitoring, we were thrilled to watch it soar back into the wild where it belongs! But what should you do if you find a hawk in need? While these birds are undeniably beautiful, they can also be pretty intimidating to approach—especially with those sharp talons (yes, they can hurt!). Unless the bird is clearly down and unable to move, call us first! We can give advice over the phone and, when possible, dispatch one of our trained rescue volunteers who know how to safely handle raptors. Or… want to become one of those rescue heroes yourself? 💪 Join our Operation Rescue and Release Team, get trained, learn how to handle wildlife emergencies, and help save birds just like this one! DM us for more info! (fb)

Even the sassiest girls need a little cuddle time now and then 🧡 Mowgli, our Ambassador Eastern Screech Owl, decided today was for softness—not sass—and showed some serious affection to our wildlife rehabber Amanda. Letting herself be scritched and acting so sweet… Could it be that breeding season’s got her feeling a little Lovely? 😏🦉 (fb)
