🦅 This stunning Short-tailed Hawk came to us showing neurological signs—disoriented, unstable, and clearly in trouble. After 23 days of supportive care, rest, and monitoring, we were thrilled to watch it soar back into the wild where it belongs! But what should you do if you find a hawk in need? While these birds are undeniably beautiful, they can also be pretty intimidating to approach—especially with those sharp talons (yes, they can hurt!). Unless the bird is clearly down and unable to move, call us first! We can give advice over the phone and, when possible, dispatch one of our trained rescue volunteers who know how to safely handle raptors.
