Save the date! Downtown Crystal Lake is proud to support the Disability Pride Committee at HLC Therapy Group, LLC in their first Disability Pride Event on Saturday, July 26! If you're unfamiliar with Disability Pride Month (July): consider this your introduction! The first Disability Pride Day was marked on July 26 of 1990, shortly after the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed, and it has since become a movement that celebrates the visibility and rights of those living with disabilities. Chicago hosted its first Disability Pride Event in 2004. To the best of our knowledge, this will be the first Disability Pride event being held in the Chicago suburbs! (Someone correct us if we are wrong and we will make the correction!) We'd love to see you at the event! You can look forward to a market supporting small business owners in the disabled community, great entertainment, and the chance to connect with community and local resources.
