Jain Society of North Texas

The Jain Society of North Texas (JSNT) is a non-profit organization established in 1982 to promote the principles and practices of Jainism. It serves as a community hub for Jains in the North Texas area, fostering religious and educational activities.

Mission and Activities

The JSNT is dedicated to spreading Jain philosophy, emphasizing values such as non-violence ((ahiṃsā)), non-possessiveness ((aparigraha)), and the importance of diverse perspectives ((anekāntavāda)). The society hosts weekly religious and educational events at its temple, known as a Derasar or Chaityalaya. Facilities

The society's temple includes facilities such as a prayer and meeting hall, a kitchen, a room for educational activities (pathshala), and a library. These resources are available to members, supporting the community's spiritual and intellectual growth.

Role in Promoting Jain Studies

Visiting Hours

Visits to the JSNT are primarily allowed on Sundays, from 10 am to 1 pm. For visits outside these hours, prior arrangements should be made with the Board of Directors. This structured schedule ensures that visitors can experience the community's activities and benefits while respecting its operational needs.
