Today, we proudly announce members of #BCFD Rescue Company No. 1 were recipients of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association @MDFIRECHIEFS Medal of Valor. BCFD Rescue Company No. 1 members, EVD Gregory W. Nelson and EMT/Firefighter Andrew M. Vernon have been awarded the prestigious Chief Leonard T. King, Sr. Medal of Valor—one of Maryland’s highest honors for fire, rescue, and EMS personnel. The ceremony took place at the MFCA’s Annual Awards Ceremony at the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department @KIVFD in Kent Island, MD. Their courage and selflessness during the Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse reflect the very best of the of their department. We thank them for their unwavering commitment to public safety and for bringing pride and honor to the Baltimore City Fire Department.
