Join us at The Strand in Rockland on May 17th for a special screening of BAD PRESS. A riveting, Sundance-winning documentary, BAD PRESS follows defiant journalist Angel Ellis as she fights to restore press freedom in the Muscogee Nation after its government reverses a landmark Free Press Act. With the urgency of a political thriller, this film offers unparalleled insight into the inner workings of Indigenous politics. The film, directed by Rebecca Landsberry-Baker and Joe Peeler, is presented by The Midcoast Villager, Points North Institute, The Strand Theatre, and the Lesher Family Foundation. The screening will take place at 5:30pm on Saturday, May 17 at the Strand, and will be followed by a discussion with Angel Ellis, director Joe Peeler, and Villager Publisher Aaron Britt.
