Hydrogen Energy Center

Since its founding in September of 1994, the Hydrogen Energy Center has been a pubic outreach, demonstration, and discussion group, focused on hydrogen as a renewable energy carrier. HEC currently has an all volunteer Board and no paid staff. HEC's President Rick Smith has a passion for knowledge about the emerging hydrogen industry and has followed its evolution since the early 1990s. Mr. Smith shares his knowledge of hydrogen and new information he gleans with HEC members, in speeches to civic groups, and in classroom presentations. Through our work in education, demonstration, and advocacy, HEC has been building on our mission to support the transition to a renewable hydrogen economy.
