Celebrate Deadwood History - Deadwood History The Adams Museum In 1930 pioneer businessman W. E. Adams founded the Adams Museum in Deadwood with the purpose of preserving and displaying the history of the Black Hills. He donated the building to the City of Deadwood.

DEADWOOD HISTORY INC
This large circuit box was once part of an innovative system that powered the Deagan Chimes at the Adams Museum. Installed in 1929, the electrically controlled 10-tone chime could play up to 50 musical selections, automatically sounding on the hour and half-hour. At the time, the Adams Museum was set to become the only museum in the world with this advanced chime system.
