🌍✨ A Beautiful Night at Taste of Africa! ✨🌍 We are still feeling the joy and warmth from this past weekend’s Taste of Africa event — and we just want to say: THANK YOU to everyone who made it so special! 💛🙌 From the moment guests walked in, greeted by the aroma of fried cassava and vibrant music, to the dancing full of laughter and community love — this event was everything we dreamed of and more. 🍽️ We proudly served dishes from Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩, Cameroon 🇨🇲, Nigeria 🇳🇬, Somalia 🇸🇴, and Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 — a true celebration of the diverse African communities who call Bellevue home. What touched our hearts the most? Watching our guests dive in, just like we do back home — eating with their hands, sharing plates, and connecting over food. Seeing participants feel comfortable enough to experience food the traditional way was powerful and reminded us how deeply food can connect us. 👐🏾🍛❤️ 🎉 We also had so much fun with our “Guess That Dish” food contest, where people tried to guess which country the meal came from — and wow, we had some experts in the room! 😂🎯 👗💃🏾 And of course, our African fashion show was a hit! Participants took the stage with confidence and pride, showing off beautiful, vibrant traditional wear that represented their heritage with elegance and joy. We were honored to have the support of the City of Bellevue 🤝🏙️— thank you for being true partners in celebrating diversity and making space for events that uplift immigrant and refugee voices. Your presence and commitment made a huge difference. This event reminded us that when we come together to share stories, meals, and culture, we create something powerful — a community grounded in understanding, love, and joy. 💬 We hope to host many more events like this in the future.
