It's California Nonprofits Day! Today we celebrate all the hard work nonprofits do for our communities, environment, health, and well-being throughout the state. Did you know there are over 1,500 museums in California? Most of them are nonprofits serving the public good. Museums make a huge impact in California: 💵 We create $6.5 billion for the economy 💼 We support 80,722 jobs 🛣️ We generate $492 million in tax revenue 😀 We serve 22 million visitors annually, including 2.5 million K-12 students At the PG Museum, we proudly serve our community with: 🆓 Free admissions for Monterey County residents 🍎 Free student field trips 🗺️ Free outreach programs ⚛️ Free Science Saturdays 🦋 Assisting with research and planning for our local environment, and more! All this comes at a cost to the museum, and we are grateful for support from the City of Pacific Grove, foundation grants, individual donations, and museum memberships.
