Just in time for Women’s Health Month: a new women’s health study from the International Hyperhidrosis Society (IHhS)and miraDry shows that up to 70% of women experience increased underarm #sweat and #odor as they approach #menopause. Many use three or more coping strategies daily, and one in four women frequently change their plans or avoid certain situations (missing out on important moments) due to underarm sweat, odor or menopause symptoms. Still, less than one-third of women report discussing any menopause symptoms with friends, family or healthcare providers. It doesn’t have to be this way—better management options for #ExcessiveSweating, unwanted #BodyOdor and peri- and menopause-related symptoms are available. Thank you to the women of our #hyperhidrosis community and to the makers of miraDry for helping to bring these issues into further light. And thank you to the healthcare providers who are already proactively discussing women’s health, hormones, skin, and wellness across the lifespan. More frequent, open and constructive conversations about sweating, body odor and menopause are needed, but we celebrate the progress being made.
