Rim Family Services, Inc.

Rim Family Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1991. Originally named Rim Communities Against Substance Abuse (RCASA), it was renamed in 1996 to better reflect its comprehensive mission. The organization is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health and substance abuse counseling services, as well as family strengthening programs, primarily in the San Bernardino Mountains area.

Mission and Vision

The mission of Rim Family Services is to offer the highest quality mental health and substance abuse counseling services and family strengthening programs to the residents of the Rim Communities. Their vision is centered on "Preserving our families . . . Strengthening our communities," guiding the development and evaluation of their programs.

Programs and Services

Rim Family Services provides a wide range of programs and services, including:

• Community-Based Recovery Service Center: This includes aftercare groups, drug education classes, family support groups, life skills classes, and self-help meetings.
• Drug Testing: Offers pre-employment and random testing services.
• Environmental Prevention Program: Focuses on coalitions, alcohol prevention, marijuana prevention, methamphetamine prevention, opioid prevention, and community organizing.
• Family Counseling: Offers individual, couple, and family counseling, including crisis counseling.
• Prevention and Early Intervention Programs: Includes community wholeness and enrichment, therapy, mental health workshops, suicide bereavement support groups, and "safeTALK" education presentations.
• Family Resource Center: Provides services such as the Transition to Independence Process (TIP) program, Parents as Teachers, Strengthening Families Program, and after-school youth projects.
• Older Adult Community Services: Offers older adult wellness services, home safety services, and the PEARLS program for therapy and active lives for seniors.
