1. To provide quality shelter and care of unwanted, neglected and/or abused Coonhounds and Bloodhounds until proper, permanent homes can be found. ABTCR volunteers will rescue Coonhounds and Bloodhounds from animal shelters, provide necessary vet care, including spay/neuter, place the dog in a foster home pending its adoption, and arrange transport to its permanent home. Prospective adopters will be required to complete an application and undergo a screening process. An adoption fee will be charged to partially cover veterinary expenses. 2. To provide advice to potential and current Coonhound and Bloodhound owners about breed characteristics, proper care, health issues, training and behavior.
