When children can't remain in their homes for their safety, it is already a heartbreaking and confusing time. But when they are also separated from their brothers and sisters, the emotional toll increases significantly. Research shows that sibling separation in foster care leads to increased levels of depression, anxiety, and trauma. Siblings are the the sense of familiarity and comfort children have, and staying together can be key to helping them heal. Older siblings, especially teens, are often closely bonded with the younger ones. They can provide comfort, stability, and even be a tremendous help to you as a foster parent. Unfortunately, most foster homes are not able to take in large sibling groups. That is where you come in. Same-sex siblings are allowed to share a room, funds are provided for care, we provide thorough training, 24/7 support, and walk alongside you so you are never alone in the journey.
