Despite Black women having a 5% lower breast cancer incidence rate vs. white women, according to the American Cancer Society, Black women have a 38% higher mortality rate, largely due to a later diagnosis and lower access to high-quality treatment. The MASS (Mammograms After Sunday Service) Program in City of Gainesville, FL - Government is a creative way to meet (literally) patients where they are. Initiatives like this are a wonderful way to screen and connect women to services.
