Essentia Health is grateful for the opportunity to share insight during this week's "SNAP & Hunger in Minnesota" Roundtable at Second Harvest Northland in Duluth, Minnesota. Our recent Community Health Needs Assessment confirmed that food access is a top concern across our region — especially for seniors, single parents, and rural families. Just this year, more than 13,000 patients at Essentia Health told us they were worried about running out of food. In response, we’ve referred thousands to trusted community organizations (like Second Harvest) that help people apply for SNAP or connect to healthy food resources. (fb)
