Meet Chaney Jambor 🧑🔬 Role: Research Associate in the START Lab 💡 Interests: Technology Assessment and Wet Lab As a member of the Scientific Technology Assessment Research Team (START Lab), Chaney is a key part of working at the wet lab bench to execute pilot projects with industry partners in collaboration with the labs at TGen & City of Hope. His specific role in the START lab helps make decisions on which cutting-edge technologies should be integrated into the research being done at both institutes. Being in a technology testing role allows Chaney to be innovative and provides the opportunity to think of new ways to solve problems. He can feed his passion to push boundaries and move the needle with different scientific ideas. Asking, Why is something done that way? Is there a way to improve it? What if we did this a completely different way instead? Having a growth mindset and openness to test ideas allows researchers to ask questions in new ways and generate data that wasn't previously possible within TGen & City of Hope, and help scientists push forward their research! #ThoughtLeader #Scientist #Technology #Assessment #Genetics #Research (fb)

TGen, part of City of Hope, has launched the Lori Lane/Andrew Spyrow Fellowship to honor two lives lost to glioblastoma. Thanks to generous donors, this $280K fellowship will fund research to speed up new drug approvals and develop rapid tests that show if treatments are reaching the tumor — bringing hope to GBM patients and their families. “The Lori Lane/Andrew Spyrow Fellowship serves as a meaningful tribute to Lori and Andrew who bravely battled GBM, inspiring us to expand our efforts to extend the life of current and future GBM patients,” said Michael Berens, Ph.D., professor and director of TGen’s Cancer and Cell Biology Division and head of the Glioma Research Lab, who will mentor the Fellow. “This gift will empower TGen to attract exceptional trainees who can leverage our scientific and innovative resources to positively impact the clinical care of GBM patients.” More information about the Lori Lane/Andrew Spyrow Fellowship at: https://bit.ly/3RZ8tnt #Glioblastoma #BrainTumor #CancerResearch (fb)
