Home - Silver City MainStreet Project Silver City MainStreet encouraging a vibrant historic downtown Silver City MainStreet Project Home Silver City MainStreet Project encouraging a vibrant historic downtown Silver City sprang to life during the summer of 1870. The discovery of silver brought thousands of miners and merchants followed in their footsteps. The towns founders decided Silver City would be built to last. In 1880 an ordinance was passed requiring masonry construction for new buildings in the city limits.

SILVER CITY MAINSTREET PROJECT
Join @mainstreetsilvercity and @silcotheatermainstreet for a Youth Filmmaking Workshop. The workshop, for youth age 10 to 17, will take place June 9 - 13, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, at the Silco Theater. Part of the 2025 @silvercityfilmfest lineup of programming, the workshop provides a nurturing and supportive environment, encouraging participants to work independently or as part of a team, depending on each participant’s creative work style and comfort level.
