ArFB state board member Brad Doyle of Weiner testified Tuesday in front of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry during a hearing entitled, “Perspectives from the Field, Part 4: Conservation.” His message expressed the obvious need for a farm bill, as well as the historical impact of the farm bill and the difference it has made for generations of farmers to provide safe, sustainable and affordable products to consumers. “Farmers and ranchers put their life’s work into their land, and in so doing, provide the American people the safest, most affordable food supply in the world,” said Doyle. “Farmers and ranchers provide the knowledge, labor and financial investment necessary for the United States to remain a world leader in food and fiber production. In recognition of the risk and responsibility placed upon farmers and ranchers, Congress has provided agricultural support programs for over 90 years.” Doyle spoke to the necessity of conservation programs and what said programs provide to farmers. As the manager of his family’s business Eagle Seed, which ships seeds across the country and into Canada, Doyle is invested in stewardship for all. As a third-generation farmer from Poinsett County, he has won many awards for his stewardship including the National Conservation Legacy award from the American Soybean Association in 2024, Walton Family Foundation Conservation Champion in 2019 and the Stanley E. Reed Leadership Award from the ArFB Federation in 2017. His passion for conservation and agriculture showcased how farmers care about stewardship and why they need access to sustainable programming and support as they work to feed, clothe and fuel America.
