A note from Precept CEO, David Arthur – Dear Precept Family, My mother, Kay Arthur, has gone home. I have so much joy knowing she is with the Lord and my father, Jack, in heaven. And yet, how deeply she is already missed—by her family, her friends, the Precept staff, and by you and the people around the world who learned with and from her. When my mom surrendered her life to Christ in 1963, she truly gave her all to Him. She moved wherever He called her to be, which meant serving as a missionary and learning to lead and write Bible studies. She was deeply passionate about the mission of Precept because she loved God’s Word. It was her life. For over 55 years, she dedicated her life to guiding others to God through the light of His Word. She is now gone, but her legacy lives on. My parents may have started Precept, but God has always had bigger plans for this ministry, far beyond what we ever dreamed. Precept continues to serve millions around the world as we honor the legacy my parents started and serve the Lord. It is such a blessing to be a part of a community like ours. Thank you to each of you that have reached out to me, my family, or the ministry. We covet your prayers and memories. Today, we grieve for what we have lost, and we rejoice for all the years we have shared with Kay. Surrounded by the global Precept community, I can hold fast to the knowledge that we’ll see her again one day, when all is restored and made right in His glorious kingdom. Our beloved cofounder, Kay Arthur, went to be with the Lord this morning, May 20, 2025. In the late 1960s, Kay and her husband, Jack, started leading Bible studies from their living room. Over the past 55 years, that small outreach has grown into an international ministry discipling millions through Scripture. Through television, radio, writing, and speaking, God has used Kay to transform millions of lives across the world. Including ours. We are so grateful for Kay’s gifts and her obedience to God’s call on her life. Her heart for God’s gospel is reflected in the mission of her ministry to this day: engaging people in relationship with God through knowing His Word. Join us as we thank God for the life of His daughter, Kay, and ask Him to comfort the family and friends she has left behind.
