Pets For The Elderly Foundation
Pets for the Elderly pays a portion of the adoption fee for senior citizens (60+) adopting a dog or cat from our network of participating shelters. The Pets for the Elderly Foundation helps with the cost of adoption of a companion animal by a senior citizen - thus reducing the number of animals in shelters. and providing companionship, health and happiness to senior citizens.

Companion Animals for Seniors: Pets for the Elderly Make a Difference in the Lives of Seniorsand in the Lives of Shelter Animals Fulfilling Friendships Reallife stories of unconditional love companionship and limitless snuggles A Double Success Story. Donna lost her dear dog Jazzy last year and contacted Brookhaven Animal Rescue League BARL in Brookhaven MS seeking a new older companion dog. As a senior herself Donna felt strongly about having an older dog. Luckily the staff at BARL kept her in mind and when they were contacted by an older woman who needed to relinquish Bonnie because she could no longer care for her Donna was contacted.
