There's a new chick on the block! 🐣 The Toledo Zoo is excited to announce the addition of a Cinereous vulture chick to our flock. Originally hatched at the Riverbanks Zoo in South Carolina, this chick required a foster parent and our male, Eddie, was the perfect match. This is Eddie’s third chick he has raised, two of which he has fostered, and he has readily accepted his role as caregiver. We’re fortunate to collaborate with the Riverbanks Zoo on this fostering effort, as this hatch is significant to the Cinereous Vulture Species Survival Plan (SSP). The program has had two successful hatches this year. Eddie and the new chick can be seen front-and-center of the Cinereous vulture and Waldrapp ibis exhibit near the Splash Pad.
