The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance is proud to support a transportation plan in Mecklenburg County that is vital to ensuring the future of mobility in the region. After bills were filed in both the Senate and the House earlier this year, this week, the Metropolitan Transit Commission voted to move the plan forward. In an op-ed for The Charlotte Post, David Howard for CLT, NC & America emphasizes the importance of transportation measures like this one, saying they increase access to economic opportunity. "The benefits of the plan are clear. More than 447,000 jobs will be located near transit access, and 450,000 people will be within a 10-minute walk of high-frequency service, whether by bus, rail, or one of the 19 new micro-transit zones," he writes.
