Building and programming plans that take advantage of the power of AI were front and center! A recent article in the The Irish Echo highlighted various speakers and concepts discussed at the event. Ireland's Consul General in San Francisco has told a gathering of global tech experts that the Irish are well-placed to influence the future direction of the AI revolution. Opening AICON Silicon Valley at Stanford University on Thursday, May 22, Micheál Smith said "Irish people, north and south, are helping shape the future of technology." He added: "From coding labs to venture capital firms, from startups to global tech companies, Irish innovators are solving real world challenges and leading transformation. Many are based here in the Bay Area, and many are in the room today. Their ambition, creativity and global perspective are among Ireland’s greatest strengths." A couple weeks ago, we were delighted to host a literary event featuring a book penned by Ancius M. Murray—an Irish-Lithuanian team made up of a physicist, a lawyer, and a creative writer who collectively created a novel of magical realism written by three authors with different nationalities, cultures, and languages. A truly unique mixture of mystery, fable and relationship guide, The Magical Journey of John and Adele, Ancius M. Murray combined their talents to create a cosy story of magical realism that will enchant while it intrigues. The writing team shared insights into their creative and collaborative process with gathered guests and, of course, involved a visit to the Dowling Library. Librarian Jennifer Drennan moderated the evening’s talk. The writing team shared: “We were warmly welcomed by the United Irish Cultural Centre and had meaningful conversations with our readers about "The Magical Journey of John and Adele". We shared insights into how the book was written collaboratively by three authors, the challenges we faced during the writing process, and the purpose behind the story.
