UGLA.org – Uptown Gay and Lesbian Allianc The UGLA Scholarship Program Since 2021 the Uptown Gay and Lesbian Alliance has awarded 42500 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Los Angeles area high schools who were going on to fouryear colleges and universities. A key requirement for receiving one of those UGLA scholarships is demonstrated advocacy for social justice issues that affect the LGBTQ community and its members and our previous scholarship recipients succeeded in doing that. In 2023 UGLA also began to offer scholarships in cooperation with select Los Angeles County community colleges. UGLA will continue the fouryear program and will work to extend the community college program in 2025.
