Our Voices, Our Safety: A Day of Action for New Mexico Survivors – June 5 New Mexico, the time to act is NOW. Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault across our state are at risk. Shelters are closing, staff are being laid off, and vital services are being cut — all because of unstable federal funding. 🛑 This is a crisis. Survivors cannot wait. ➡️ Join us on June 5 for a statewide Day of Action to demand that Congress protect and invest in life-saving services. 📞 Call your Representatives and Senators in Congress and tell them: Fund safety. Fund survival. Fund our communities. 📍 Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121 Ask to be connected to: @SenMartinHeinrich @SenatorLujan @RepMelanieStans @RepTeresaLF @RepGabeVazquez 📊 In 2023, nearly 20,000 domestic violence incidents were reported in New Mexico — and that’s only what was documented. Tribal, rural, and underserved communities are especially at risk when funding disappears. 🗣️ Survivors deserve more than thoughts and prayers. They deserve resources, housing, counseling, and protection. 📅 Mark your calendar: JUNE 5 📣 Raise your voice. Share this post. Make the call. #OurVoicesOurSafety #FundDVServices #NMCADV #ProtectSurvivors #EndDV #SupportSurvivors #FundSafetyNow (fb)

Save the Date – June 5: National Day of Action 🌟 Our Voices, Our Safety: A Day of Action for New Mexico Survivors 🌟 Survivors across New Mexico are at risk. Shelters are facing closures, layoffs, and critical service cuts due to unstable federal funding. These programs are lifelines — and we cannot let them disappear. 📊 New Mexico Domestic Violence Statistics (2023–2024): In FY2024, 18 intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual assault (SA) related deaths were reviewed. 83.3% of these cases had a known history of IPV between the victim and perpetrator. 55.6% of incidents involved minor children who were present during the incident or lived in the household at the time. 77.8% of IPV and SA perpetrators were men. 💡 Funding saves lives. Domestic violence programs provide emergency shelter, legal advocacy, trauma recovery, and safety planning. Without federal investment, these essential services will disappear, leaving survivors with nowhere to turn. 🗓️ On June 5, join NMCADV and advocates across the state to demand protection and expansion of funding that keeps New Mexicans safe. 📞 Call your Members of Congress today! 📱 Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121 Tell them: Survivors deserve safety. Programs deserve support. Funding must be protected. 📍 Contact your New Mexico delegation: @SenMartinHeinrich @SenatorLujan @RepMelanieStans @RepTeresaLF @RepGabeVazquez #OurVoicesOurSafety #FundSafetyNow #ProtectSurvivors #NMCADV #DayOfAction #DVAM #StandWithSurvivors #NewMexicoSpeaksOut (fb)
