In the past year, freshmen made some gains in comprehension, and students’ concerns about reading ability showed improvement. As part of the initiative, the university is adding new vocabulary-building measures and continues efforts to foster a culture of reading through book clubs, faculty training, and student-driven projects. The goal is to improve students’ academic success and foster a deeper connection to reading across disciplines.
