Congratulations to vascular surgeons Dr. Animesh Rathore and Dr. David Dexter, clinical research coordinator Amanda Anderson, the Sentara vascular surgical team and the vascular research team for successfully completing the first case in the United States as part of the SEAL clinical trial! The only other case that has been completed so far was in Isreal. The SEAL clinical trial studies the effectiveness of a new technology to repair Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA), which can be a life-saving procedure. DID YOU KNOW: The Sentara Health Research Center is currently participating in nearly 200 clinical trials! These wide-ranging studies will help not only our care teams, but health systems around the world, improve patient care and access to life-saving treatments. More than 400 Sentara colleagues directly support research and clinical studies throughout our organization by helping to enroll patients, perform controlled studies, analyze data, and much more. We had a fantastic time celebrating our community impact with the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula! We were honored to be recognized at the largest community celebration to date.
