Today, we remember. 🇺🇸 On this Memorial Day, we pause with deep gratitude to honor those who gave their lives in service. Some of our @myrefugehouse supporters are veterans who served in the Philippines and carry strong memories and deep connections to the people and place we call home. We know that today they are remembering friends and colleagues. We join them in honoring those lives—recognizing their service and holding space for their stories. #MemorialDay #WeRemember #Gratitude #MRHCommunity #HonorAndHope (fb)

BIG NEWS in the world of MRH Education!!! Years ago, Channy came to My Refuge House as a teenager seeking safety and healing. She graduated last June with her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. One of the most heartwarming moments of my life was witnessing the glow and pride on Channy’s father’s face at her graduation. This past March, Channy was one of 34,810 graduates to sit for the Licensure Examination for Teachers. She found out yesterday that less than half passed this exam, and she’s one them!!! Channy is now a licensed elementary teacher in the Philippines. Her dream? To help more children find their voice and experience a love of learning, just like she did. Now, two of our younger girls—Samantha and Rhea—are unexpectedly ready for their next big step, too. Thanks to their incredible determination and progress in our homeschool program, they’ve been approved to start Senior High School early. They and our teaching team have so much to be proud of. They begin in just a few weeks! Here’s the thing: we weren’t planning on them going this year. We didn’t budget for this. But they’re ready. So we’re going the extra mile—literally and figuratively—to raise $1,500 to make it possible. That covers all of the additional necessary expenses, including: + Transportation to school + Uniforms and school shoes + Supplies, contributions, and phone access for school use While the official Movement for Freedom ends this month, I’ve decided to carry its spirit with me throughout the year. I’m determined to keep walking through life’s ups and downs—and to keep walking the Inman 300 with my friend Kristen—one staircase, one mile, one act of purpose at a time. Let’s show Samantha, Rhea, Channy, and all of our teachers just how inspiring they are and how much we are cheering them on. 💞 Give Today at movementforfreedom.com #movementforfreedom #moveyourbodychangealife #myrefugehouse #mff2025 (fb)

We journey together toward hope healing and restoration with survivors and communities impacted by sexual exploitation in the Philippines. Stories Matter That reading abuse case files impacts me in a way that makes me question about the futility of what were doing. But then I get to see the faces of the girls here and I remember all of the stories of all of girls who have been restored. When you get to see the faces behind those numbers and realize being those numbers are real stories thats when it hits you differently.
