Congratulations to the Ball-Chatham School District, for being chosen the Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce’s Member of the Month for June! This recognition highlights the district’s exceptional leadership, coordination, and compassion in the wake of the recent YNOT Child Care facility crisis. Ball-Chatham staff swiftly and expertly activated their Crisis Response Plan, implementing a well-organized reunification process at Chatham Baptist Church. This allowed emergency responders to focus on the immediate needs at the YNOT site while ensuring the safety and emotional well-being of the children and their families. In the days that followed, the District continued to lead with care—mobilizing both local and regional resources. Their coordinated efforts included partnerships with the American Red Cross, access to group and individual counseling services, therapy dog support, and meaningful student-led initiatives such as a candlelight vigil and fundraising campaign organized by the Glenwood High School Student Council.
