Join us as we honor the nurses who make a difference every single day like Janelle Phillips, RN, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport. Janelle has always enjoyed taking care of people’s needs and started as a CNA at a nursing home as she worked her way through college and even helped take care of her grandmother. Janelle’s first job as a graduate nurse was at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center 30 years ago and she has never wanted to do anything else. “Oncology nursing is a very specialized focus, not only on administering chemotherapy but educating and connecting with patients and their families,” Janelle said. “There is something special about oncology patients.” (fb)
