This week, Bethel welcomed speaker Luther Snow - a national speaker, facilitator, and consultant known for helping communities and networks take positive action for the common good. Creator of Asset Mapping, Luther worked with our staff and lay leaders to identify community assets and explore new opportunities for faithful action. These assets include physical, individual, community associations, institutions, economic, and historical resources. Congregation Asset Mapping invites us to consider: “What is God’s will for this community?” and “Where is the Holy Spirit leading our future mission and ministry?” Thank you, Luther - for a warm, informative and thoughtful talk. Bethel Lutheran Church volunteers preparing and serving meals at the Community Meal Program at Luke House in Madison. Many hands assemble and serve the meals and volunteers are always welcome into the community of servers. The food served by the Bethel group is contributed by individual households on a regular or occasional basis. Some donate items such as bread, milk, fruit or vegetables.
