Changing Habits and Motivating Personal Self-Esteem (CHAMPS) is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering communities, particularly in Seattle, by providing essential resources and fostering community engagement. Established in 1999, the organization has been a vital part of community development in Southeast Seattle.

History

CHAMPS was founded by Danielle Jackson through a World Vision Grant - BETA. Over the years, the organization has evolved significantly, engaging in a variety of projects and initiatives. Notable milestones include the provision of transitional housing and the use of an RV for those unable to obtain housing from 2006 to 2024. Additionally, CHAMPS was involved in event coordination for the Rainier Beach Action Coalition's Back2School Bash from 2014 to 2024.

• FYBY Anti-Violence Conference: An initiative aimed at raising awareness about violence prevention, especially among youth.
• Adopt-A-Family Christmas Giveaway: A charitable event during the holiday season.
• Rainier Beach Skatepark: A community-led project to build a skatepark in Rainier Beach.
