The Armenian Eyecare Project is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 dedicated to providing the Armenian people eye care through five primary programs. The mission of the AECP is to eliminate preventable blindness and its causes in Armenia and to make eye care accessible to all. The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors and funded with private dollars.

THE ARMENIAN EYECARE PROJECT
On May 27, the National Institute of Health of Armenia hosted a certificate award ceremony honoring primary healthcare professionals, who successfully completed the âInformatics for Officersâ courseâan integral part of the broader âInformatics for Healthâ educational initiative. This program is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, Children's Hospital Los Angeleseles (CHLA), and Armenian EyeCare Project âa powerful collaboration aimed at accelerating Armeniaâs digital transformation in healthcare. Implemented at the National Institute of Health, the âInformatics for Healthâ program is designed to: - Strengthen digital competencies across the healthcare workforce - Promote data-driven decision-making - Build long-term digital capacity within Armeniaâs healthcare system This initiative reflects Armeniaâs commitment to building a more efficient, modern, and informed healthcare systemâempowering healthcare professionals with the skills to lead digital change.
