On June 1, 1905, 120 years ago, Dr. Victor Miller Jr. and Nellie Bachtell (Loose) Miller married in Hagerstown. The Morning Herald described their wedding as one of “the most beautiful and fashionable nuptial events in Hagerstown in recent years." The church's auditorium was decorated with laurel, peonies, pink and white roses, ferns, and palms. Bridesmaids' dresses were made of white batiste, and they carried white and pink La France roses. The couple left later that day for their honeymoon in Boston. We love this photo from the WCHS Archives showing Victor Jr. and Nellie (seated center front) with their wedding party and cute fluffy dog. This year marks the 200th Anniversary of the Miller House, where Dr. Victor Jr. and Nellie Miller lived together for 43 years. #hagerstownmd #washingtoncountymd (fb)
