We had a fantastic visit from @ctmccurdy last week as part of our Grum Project Visiting Artist series. Charlotte McCurdy shared her passion for design in a host of ways, stopping in for two classes while also holding a lecture last Wednesday that was open to the entire campus community. “The students were game for this weird, random person who’s coming in with a slightly different pedagogy than what they’re used to,” McCurdy said of her visit. “They took on the challenge that I gave them with earnestness, seriousness, and curiosity. They came up with great ideas, honestly. In just these 15, 20 minute sprints where I set the stage for the challenge that they needed to combat and a couple of parameters to try to help them get in their way as a team, they, I think, were able to grab on with playfulness, but also earnestness and put forward some interesting ideas.
