New Hayward City Manager Ana Alvarez will be the featured speaker when the Hayward Rotary Club meets for lunch at noon Monday April 7 at 1074 B St. Alvarez began in her new positionJan. 9 andmost recently served as deputy general manager for East Bay Regional Park District the largest urban park district in the country with its own police and fire departments and 73 parks spanning nearly 127000 acres in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. As city manager Alvarez serves as the City of Haywards chief executive with primary responsibility for overall administration of Haywards 900employee municipal government oversight ofdepartmental leadership and implementation of city council priorities policy direction and legislation.
