Minori Yasui was one of the first Japanese Americans to graduate from the University of Oregon School of Law. Shortly after, he made history by challenging the constitutionality of the curfew imposed on Japanese Americans during World War II. Through his protest and eventual arrest, the curfew was ruled unconstitutional but he was jailed and fined – a risk he was willing to take to stand for justice. Yasui continued to fight for civil rights and justice through the remainder of his career.
