Being a Master Gardener is about more than tending plants — it's about growing connections. Master Gardener volunteer Mary Pettit brings nature indoors to the Memory Cafe at the Crow River Senior Center, a program that uses gardening-themed activities to help participants connect with long-term memories. “Even though they may have some impairment or memory loss, they still have long-term memory,” Pettit observes.
