A Statement from Good Cheer’s Board President On May 8th 2025, I received a formal whistleblower grievance from a former employee who had recently resigned from Good Cheer. I acknowledged receipt of the complaint that day. I outlined the steps the relevant board committees would take to investigate the complaint in accordance with Good Cheer’s Whistleblower and Grievance policies. I informed the former employee that additional information might be requested. I assured the individual that they would be informed of the final determinations and outcomes. To give due process to all parties, I informed the individual that the investigation would require a few weeks’ time, if not more. Good Cheer’s Board of Directors received no further communication from the former employee until late Tuesday afternoon. Shortly thereafter, the former employee posted similar content on the South Whidbey Alerts Facebook page. The post remains available on the South Whidbey Alerts Facebook page to provide context for my statement. Good Cheer’s Board of Directors remains committed to a full and appropriate investigation into the merits of the whistleblower complaint. In the service of due process, we will not engage in a more detailed discussion of this matter. However, we appreciate our community’s engagement and concerns.
