The spring Art at the Airport exhibition featuring Treescapes in all forms and interpretations opens April 29 at the Tahoe Truckee Airport. On display at the Steve Randall Community Rec Center through April 15.

Moonlight Bejamin The Center for the Arts Friday, September 12 Powerhouse vocalist Moonlight Benjamin fuses Haitian traditions with 70s-inspired blues-rock, garage blues, and electric jazz rock. Haitian by way of France, she grew up in a Protestant orphanage, learning to sing in church before unleashing her mystifying, soul-stirring voice on world stages such as Jazzfest in New Orleans, and other festivals worldwide. If you like Khruangbin, Santigold, The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, Tinariwen or Patti Smith - this show is for you.

Poetry on Preserves A Poetry Reading and Writing Workshop Saturday September 13, 10:00am - 12:00pm Join Nevada County Poet Laureate Karen Terrey and poets Ingrid Keriotis and Rooja Mohassessy for a poetry reading and writing workshop at Bear Yuba Land Trust’s c’oom pe Preserve, home to scenic Mountain Bounty Farm. Under the cover of the mother oak, the poets will read poems inspired by the harvest, with prompts for participants to write and share their own poetry.
