On Thursday, October 21st, at 12:30 (EST) I'll be speaking with my colleague Sarah Chakrin, on What is the Non-Profit VEI - Vision Ed Inc.? Sarah spent 5 years teaching and writing curriculum in the Chicago area. In 2011 Sarah earned a master’s degree in Global Affairs from NYU, concentrating on education and international development. She lived in Guatemala for 1 ½ years working for an education nonprofit, returning stateside in 2013 to work for Vision Ed Inc, a partner company of Robofun. As VEI’s Executive Director since 2016, she has continued to expand operations to schools in underserved communities throughout the NYC area. We'll be discussing how, within these classrooms, she's recognized the need for education to acknowledge and address the unique experiences, needs, and challenges of many children in low-income and underserved communities, and began work on a stress and trauma-responsive approach in VEI’s STEAM-learning activities. We're looking forward to diving into what Vision Ed. I hope you can join us! (fb)
