Lawrence General recently celebrated DAISY Foundation award recipient, ICU nurse Beth Baker, RN, after a family nominated her for offering compassionate care to their sister during her final days. Beth was honored with a surprise ceremony to cap off Nurses Week. The nominating family member had special praise for how Beth helped her loved one die with dignity. She wrote: "Recently, Beth took amazing care of our sister as she was in her last hours. Beth was very helpful to our family, explaining every procedure and very responsive to our questions. It felt like she was caring for a member of her own family. Beth made a very difficult day for our family a little bit lighter, and we are very grateful."
