On a brisk cloudy day (yesterday) I ran the traditional 18 miler. Over the years I have taken many friends on that run: through the woods from my house nearly to Mt Monadnock then turning towards Marlborough onto the railroad tracks and ending in Keene at a restaurant that has changed 4 times. This was supposed to be on my birthday next Friday but I’ll be flying to California that day for a prison tour. So even though it’s early it is my birthday affirmation. And it fulfills a dream I had in hospital a year and a half ago. (fb)
