Katherine S. says: "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning" is an absolutely action-packed movie, taking a more serious and grave tone than the previous installments of the series. It’s full of constant high-tension and emotional moments, and insane stunts, as always. Now that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has retrieved the cruciform key, the next step in destroying the rogue AI – “The Entity” – is finding the Podkova, which contains the original code of the AI and is at an unknown location at the bottom of the sea. So, Ethan and his team must travel the globe and find the Podkova before The Entity gains control of every nuclear arsenal and launches them, annihilating the world. It’s a cautionary tale about AI and offers a scary view into the future. If you haven’t watched Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 you should because it is the first part of this movie. Even though this is the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible franchise and has the word “final” in the title, it’s unknown whether this will be the last assignment for Ethan Hunt . Almost all of the stunts are performed by Tom Cruise who always seem to outdo himself, but the stunts in this movie are so crazy that even professionals said they were impossible. There’s a wing-walking stunt between two planes in this film that the original stunt teams said was not possible. However, Cruise defied the odds and was able to do an extremely dangerous and extremely impressive wing-walking stunt. There’s also a lot of fast-moving images and flashbacks to past movies, so be cautious if you are photosensitive. Ethan Hunt and his team, Benji (Simon Pegg), Grace (Hayley Atwell), Paris (Pom Klemenieff) and Degas (Greg Tarzan Davis), have such good chemistry and they work so well together. Zoey F. enjoyed watching "Panda Bear in Africa" because of its theme and good humor. The plot follows Pang (Yootha Wong Loi-Sing) a panda who is determined to travel the world and his dragon friend, Jielong (Georgina Verbaan). Two dragon hunters kidnap Jielong as a gift for the self-centered lion prince in Africa, leaving Pang all by himself. But he is brave and decides to rescue her himself. On the way, he faces rude baboons, a misunderstood hyena, dangerous deserts, and an extremely annoying, but occasionally useful monkey. Despite the challenges, Pang is determined to stay strong There are many parts of Panda Bear in Africa that I enjoyed, especially the humor. Every scene is packed with funny jokes like the story of how female baboons got red butts or how dangerous snakes were turned into harmless balloon animals. I also enjoyed the characterization of the animals. The Lion Prince discovers that he wants to stray from his uncle’s views and become more compassionate and kinder, but he often finds himself controlled by his uncle. This is an extremely mature and impressive theme to have in a kids’ movie. Another impressive aspect is the voice acting. It really feels as if every animal has a unique and fitting voice. In the animal kingdom, dragons are all-powerful creatures; they are admired by other creatures due to their flight capability and ice breath and hence, the reason for the dragon hunters wanting to give Jielong as a gift to the Lion Prince. The film’s message is about the importance of finding yourself and ignoring stereotypes. We see this especially when Pang ignores the “lazy panda” stereotype and forges his own path of bravery and adventure.
