Yesterday marked the last day of school for Metro Nashville Public Schools students and what a year it’s been! We’re sending a huge congratulations to all MNPS teachers, staff, students, and families for wrapping up a school year filled with growth and great accomplishments. This year, MNPS continued to be recognized for its impressive academic growth. A new Tennessean article by Rachel Wegner highlights how MNPS educators met post-pandemic challenges head-on with teacher creativity, commitment, and other resources in tutoring and summer programs to support learning loss. The results speak for themselves: • From 2022 to 2024, MNPS students gained more than 67% of a grade level in math which nearly doubled the statewide recovery rate of 36%. • MNPS also earned national recognition on the Education Recovery Scorecard, a research collaboration between Harvard and Stanford. We’re proud to celebrate these milestones and the MNPS teachers and staff who made them possible.
